BMW M3 (E46) vs: BMW M1
Too much talk about it so here it is;
2001 BMW M3 24-Valve DOHC 6-in-line, aluminium block and head Bore x Stroke 3.58 x 3.43 in (91.0 x 87.0 mm) Displacment 198 cu in (3245cc) Compression Ratio 11.5:1 Power SAE net 333 BHp @ 7900 rpm Torque SAE net 261 lb-ft @ 4900 rpm Redline 8000 rpm 6 Speed Manual Curb Weight 3454 lbs. Price: $49,500 USD (est) 1979 BMW M1 24-Valve DOHC 6-in-line Displacement 211 cu in (3.5 L) Power SAE net 266 BHp @ 6500 rpm Torque SAE net 229 lb-ft @ 5000 rpm ZF 5 Speed Manual transaxle Curb Weight 3000 lbs. Price: (1979) $53,000 USD There ya go my vote now is still the M3 but, the M1 is lighter and not that far behind in power or torque, my book said its top speed was 162 mph and 0-60 time is 5.5 Seconds, so it really quick for even today's standards
