$50,000 for a new car...

The average upper middle class American that wants to stretch his wallet a little or doesnt have other commitments should be able to afford any of these cars. So what would you buy?

Judge the cars however you want, there are no wrong reasons for a vote.

PS
Dont say "well i'd just get a cheaper car and mod it with the extra money" This comparo isnt about that.

Im a huge M3 fan, so no suprise that I voted for it. Perfect combination of luxury, performance, and handling for me. Dont have kids so I dont really need the back seats of a big sedan, but I dont really want a car as small as a Vette or the Boxster S.

Well I was going to choose other, but since my first choice and second choice are not officially out yet I decided to stick to the list and go with the BMW M3. Sweet ass car, while I know there are others that offer better performance such as the ZO6 for example, I still love the styling of the M3 and it's performance is very good.

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

that's not a new car, is it?
nope.

i picked the cts-v... i really like the stying, it performs in between the m3 and m5, and it's just brutal...

and can sound downright mean as F...

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

i picked other because i would choose the nissan 350z track model. performance and looks (imo) all in one package, plus it is a z car. but i would think about getting a m3.

oo, i think the infiniti m45 really appeals to me, it looks really nice, kinda like the g35's daddy, its luxurious?, its really roomy, there is all wheel or rear wheel drive, and i think there is a little room for potential, but being that its a 4.5 liter V8 adding a supercharger will instantly add almost 100hp to it, im kinda lazy, i dont want to deal with those turbo kits n stuff heh heh

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

I wouldn't get a 530i, A6, E class or GS430- I'm still 11 years away from 40.

The current RL is horrible (Though the new one is going to be cool).

I'm ruling out the Corvette on the basis that the interior is cheap and is too wide to be practical. Make it a C6 and we'll talk.

The CTS-v is pig-ugly and it does the same things as the M3, but it's still ugly.

The C32 AMG is awaiting replacement by the C55, so bugger that.

That leaves the S4, M3 and M45. The M45 is too big, so I'll reject it. The S4 is what I'd go for if I was going to daily drive and the M3 if it was a fun car.

Several of those cars are over 50K, but aside from that, I'd go with the M3 among the ones that are listed. After taking out the new 300 I'm thinking that would be a good choice as well.

Re: $50,000 for a new car...

i voted for the Z06. there's just no better bang for the buck. cheap interior?? who the hell cares? unrefined?? who the hell cares?? $50k will buy you a good looking car with the cajones to tear up the streets, handling to put a crapload of european supercars that cost tens of thousands more to shame. no family, no need to haul things, have this kind of money to spend. there's no reason to NOT have one for $50k. obviously you all know which out of those i voted for.

If I had 50k I would more than likely pick the Z06. I'm still young and sports cars appeal to me more than a 4dr/sports sedan. If I were to actually be practical about the situation, then I would still be very happy behind the wheel of the S4. How bout I just have both
