Air filter fit on B350?
I recently got a 1994 B350 with a V8 360ci / 5.9L engine and suspected that the air filter probably needed replacing. Sure enough! The old one was extremely smushed (collapsed or smushed down deliberately, I don't know), rusty and black with dust. The new one looks great, but the lid doesn't sit flush with the filter housing. The new filter is about 2.75" tall, the old one looked like it was too, originally, but got smushed down to 1.75" or so. I've double checked the part number (Wix 42020) and confirmed the engine type - any thoughts? It seems like the lid should seat with the housing, but I've got an inch of open space all around.

Sounds like the wrong filter house is installed.
