Angry 2005 Escape tranny

Driving on the highway escape tranny shut down. Motor ok but no gears. Towed to garage. Any ideas?

More info. It is a 2005 Escape 65000 miles.

I don't know your year, but my 02 V6 4WD had that happen. The body that the clutch pack rides in cracked and wouldn't keep the fluid pressure inside it. If you get it fixed, ask about extended warranty and get it. When mine was rebuilt there was the option to pay for a lifetime warranty. It had 3 other things fail and I didn't spend another dime. The last rebuild they got tired of messing with it and put just about everything new inside it. That last rebuild was 140,000 miles ago. One of the times was because the radiator cracked in the trans cooler putting antifreeze into the trans. They still had to fix it.
