Re: ZX2 Performance?

So all of these mods that china listed only puts you around 162 hp? or at least the mods he had only had him at 162? zx2srdotnet...if u get the basics, intake, headers, exhaust, computer, how much would that add hp wise. it seems depressing if all of these mods dont get u up into the 200 range..

Re: ZX2 Performance?

all of that should put you around 180 i believe, but i haven't seen any dyno's of anyone with all of that. add a 50shot tp that and your over 200whp. you should be solid 13's with that.

A computer(or chip) header, intake and exaust should put you over 120whp.

I have no idea what China was talking about. It didnt really seem like HE knew what he was talking about

Re: ZX2 Performance?

i mean "50 shot TO that"

the gude kit has fitment problems(hoses to short, pipes not fitting ect), and doesnt come with any engine management so you have to by that all seperately and you will NEED to becasue from what i remember the Gude kit has a boost creep problem. a better kit is here http://www.focus-power.com/view.php?showme=ZX2_Kit

2. top seed would be over 118 ive gone over 125

2. with 162hp Crank OR at the wheels you should be lower 15's but NOT at 98mph you'dd need a lot more for that

I know the times are out of wack but they are just est 1/4 times done on the dyno before the stock engine overheated and took off (yea piston + hood = L:shit:L

the car was off the road for about 2 months and is now back on with a 2.3 liter duratec engine, sorry only intake, exhaust and a udp for now, trying to figure all this out. and yes zx2srdotnet, i know what im doing and talking about. Anyone interested in buying a 2.3 powered ZX2? idk how much i could get but just wondering cuz ill be selling in bout a year 2,000 miles on her

Re: ZX2 Performance?

2.3 swap then sell it? yeah thats stupid, also the fact that you swaped for only 25hp and 20tq that is really pointless, and all the work to get the 2.3 to fit in the zx2, and since you didn't mention it i guess you kept the G5m which will also add more cost to th swap. then add all the wireing so you spend a few grand for hmmm.....MINIMAL GAINS.

the power you made from the swap would be made up with a chip, header, udp and catback, a LOT cheaper then the swap

Re: ZX2 Performance?

::sniff, sniff:: wow... shit's gettin deep in here. chinatown's full of shit... no such thing as a rotory powered zx2... his car does not put 162 hp to the ground... and i seriously doubt he has a duratec in his car. so he's pretty much full of shit. go back to chinatown dude... no one here is impressed w/ your LIES!!!

#2. all those mods zx2srdotnet listed, at different levels will give you more hp. such as if you get a MAJOR pnp done to the head w/ oversized valves and racing cams... im willing to bet that you could pull a good 225 to the wheels if you did it all right. of course... id change a few things on that list. FRIM IS worth the money if you have a pnp'd head (says johnp) and there are a few short runner intake manifolds being designed and made right now. TTMotorsports has one on the market that supposedly claims very good gains. depending on how much you're gonna be driving the car (higher compression for a weekend warrior lower for daily driver) different compressions will help diff apps. also... if you do everything on that list + turbo and GOOD tuning (never seen this before but it's possible) you could get 400+ hp outta the car. that's boosting probably near 15 psi on COMPLETELY worked over engine. strict race engine. but again... never seen it.

Re: ZX2 Performance?

iven never really seen the FRIM as worth it becasue a ported stock intake can hold to 12sec boosted

Re: ZX2 Performance?

true... but FRIM has bigger runners all the way through and according to johnp, will add near 25-30 hp on a ported head. whereas the ported stocker only does 12-18 hp. im not sure on the #'s from the TTMotorsports mani but i know there's at least 2 guys on teamzx2 running it and they seem to like it. still, i wouldn't buy any of them cuz in the future im gonna have one available that will blow them all out of the water.
