1986 944 not starting...

It was starting normal and than taking little time to start you need to crank a few times before it will start, now it just crank and crank no start, i have changed the ignition coil still no luck, when I turn key to on position i can hear fuel pump kicks in so pump is working.

Any and all help will be appreciated.....

starter...try to bump start the car.

bump start if u dont know: have someone push the car with u inside, push the clutch in, put the car in 2nd gear, and come off the clutch. u'll hear the flywheel spinning, wait a few seconds before coming off clutch. easier done on a hill than not.

if that works, def get a new starter. if not, then i dont know

Re: 1986 944 not starting...

make sure you have gasoline pressure in the injector. just because the pump turns on does not mean the fuel damper, filter,or fuel distributor are not plugged.remove the positive to the battery.remove a line to the injector,be carefull not to loose the seal, since the line presure is always there if the pump is operational and the system works some fuel will leak.
hope this helps
