'01 Alero SES Lt. & No Temp. & Fans Come On

Have been having an intermittent issue with fans coming on and the temp gauge isn't registering at all when this occurs. I have replaced the temp. sender in the past, and that did the trick for a while, but today it happened again, coupled with the SES light.

Just as a point of information, have had an issue with the whole blinking security light, gone through the whole reset routine. Now the security light stays on all the time, but I can start and run the car without issue. Could it be the PCM or can these issues be solved seperately?

BNaylor, I'd appreciate your input in particular.

Thanks, Mike

Welcome to AF.

You might try this link to test the sensor and circut.

It could also be one of the relays stuck open.
Thier is also issues with corrosion in the fuse boxes, especialy the fan/ac relays for some reason.

Hope that helps.
