Question '00 Alero---ABS/Brake Lights on

I just had my rear Brakes replaced (pads & rotors) and now the ABS light and Brake Light are on constantly. Mechanic (of 25 yrs) tells me Park Brake OFF switch may be faulty BUT when engaging Park Brake and moving warning bell indicates it's on and no belles when off. Previous problem of ABS/Trac Off/SVS intermittent on still not solved (he suspects & found some bad wiring) RF hub replaced THREE times. Numerous stored DTC codes mostly relative to Brakes/ABS/Wheel speed. I suspect a possible faulty Brake Control Module, possibly from the previous wiring probs. Anyone have any ideas and/or solutions ??? Sorry for the long post.

Thanx, Rolly

Re: '00 Alero---ABS/Brake Lights on

Just in case double check the fluid level at the master cylinder reservoir. There is a level sensor that will cause the brake light to come on. Otherwise it indicates a conventional braking system hydraulic system malfunction.

To correct the ABS fault you may need to have it put on a scanner capable of retrieving ABS DTC codes. From what you are saying the EBTCM (ABS Module) is a possibility.
