Electrical blips
I have a weird thing going on with my 04 Envoy. I have replaced some parts in the AIR system within the last few months and now I am having flickers of power with the gagues and lights on my dash. When I started it today all of the gauges read flat, the gas light and the battery was barely and it didnt show milage or PRND on the display. The radio and all other electrical things seemed fine, just the dash stuff. Do I have a short somewhere or could this be due to replacing some parts, because it never did this before now??
Help. Last edited by beeyeach; 12-17-2009 at 09:56 AM. |

Re: Electrical blips
Make sure all the grounds for the dash are good, also on the l/s of the block.. Then it is on to the ign switch, common problem.

Re: Electrical blips
It seems that my battery was done. Got a new one and the gauges work as they should now. I have noticed now that the "low gas" light and the battery light now stay dimly lit and will not go off. This could be the source of the drained battery. Now need to know why these are on and won't go off? Bad relay? Or a bad ground somewhere?

Re: Electrical blips
If you are going to tackle this type of repair get a factory manual and follow the trouble tree diagnostics.
