05 envoy xl Denali windshield washer problem

Hello,
I am new to this site. I recently purchaced a used 05 Envoy XL Denali (3 weeks ago)it has the 5.3 V8. I noticed that the rear windshield wiper works, but not the washer. I found that the hose on the wiper was kinked, but after fixing it still doesn't spray. I also noticed that the headlight washers also won't spray. I read that the rear washer will not operate if the tank is low, however I put two full gallons of fluid into the tank and both rear and headlight sprayers are still inopp. If anyone has heard of this, or has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you in advance.

Re: 05 envoy xl Denali windshield washer problem

I haven't really had much time to mess with this as of yet. I was by myself and tried to listen but couldn't get close enough to tell if pump was running. I did swap the relay between the front washer (which I know works) and the rear. That did not change anything. I need to find time to have someone else hold the button while I listen for the pump. There are three pumps on the front of the washer resevior, can anyone tell me which pump is which. Would this info be in a haynes or chilton manual? Maybe that would be a good purchase for me to make. I can live without the rear and headlamp washers, hense I don't want to dump a lot of money into this issue. I would however like to fix it myself if I can do so inexpensive and somewhat easily. I was hoping someone might have a simple solution or might be able to post a schematic for the wiring / washer hoses. Thank you again for any info.

Re: 05 envoy xl Denali windshield washer problem

ok, I had someone hold the buttons for rear and headlamp spayers. The pumps do not make any noise at all. I haven't checked to see if the pumps are getting power. Still not sure which pump is which, the center one seems to be for the front windshield, and it does run when activated.

Thumbs up Re: 05 envoy xl Denali windshield washer problem

I found that the front windshield pump is the center on, left pump is the rear, and right pump is for the headlamp washer. I went ahead and checked ALL fuses, and found that fuse number 7 was blown. I replaced the fuse and the rear washer worked, but pushing the headlamp washer button blew the new fuse. I removed the pump, and disasembled it. the motor was rusted and seized. I sprayed PB Blaster on it and let it sit for a few mins. I then tryed to move the motor spline and it broke free. I re-assembled the pump and installed. All windshield and washer spayers are now functional.
