2000 S Type Jaguar with Engine damage.

2000 S type Platinum silver 4.0/150k miles on the clock.
Body - 9
Tires - 1
Interior - 7
Engine - 2

I bought it the other day for $600, and haven't decided to fix or part it.

Compression test's on bank 1.
60lbs - 4
00lbs - 3
60lbs - 2
00lbs - 1

Compression test's on bank 2.
30lbs - 8
30lbs - 7
30lbs - 6
00lbs - 5

Firing order -
1,5,4,2
6,3,7,8

Cylinders 1-8

Tran
4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5
Fan


* It looks like the cam to cam & cam to crank timing went bad on this V8 DOHC.

parts list - fel-pro
stretch head bolts - $88.00
valve cover and spark plug boss seals - $60.00
new valve stem seals
head gaskets - $60
intake gasket
primary/secondary cam chain + tensioners $212.00
intake/exhaust valves? 1 pair = $40.00

Notes:

Kelly Blue book price for a 2000 S TYPE 4.0 in good cond is $4100,

1) The secondary cam chain and tensioner is gone on bank 1.
2) The secondary cam chain is good, but the tensioner is bad on bank 2.
3) Timing chain cover removal in-progress.
4) Both the alternator + power steering pump, and mounts need to be taken off.

Tightening torques -

Heads - 23Nm /17 ft pounds
Intake - 21Nm/15 ft pounds
Cam- - 10Nm/7.38 ft pounds
Tensioner -12Nm/8.85 ft pounds
Front engine cover - 12Nm/8.85 ft pounds
Cop cover - 5Nm/

Found a used 4.0 V8 @ LKQX for $200 .
The compression is good, it only needs new valve cover gaskets and secondary cam chain tensioners
