Do any of you use injector cleaner. Is you do, how often.
I just put 2600 miles on the new psd and she's running rough. I have a total of 7600 miles and I'm wondering if this is normal. Thank you in advance for your advise. |

Re: 6.0 owners
Haven't used it but do use diesel additive. What year is your truck?

Those injectors shouldn't need cleaning. Your filter on top of your engine filters to four microns, anything small enough to get through your filter should pass right through an injector. Plus with injector tip pressures in the tens of thousands of pounds per square inch, you get a free power washing with every injection cycle! I have seen a couple vehicles where a fellow used too many additives and scoured his injector bores. At four hundred bucks a pop, they add up quick. HEUI injectors need the lubrication of diesel fuel. In short, as long as you change filters regularly, no cleaning additives are necessary. Oh yeah, if you're running rough, take it to the dealership, it probably needs a programming update. A new programming makes all the difference in the world on those 6.0s.

Re: 6.0 owners
Once you get the codes you have to fix the problem then blank out the code.
