Xsara VTR and VTS owners
Are there any fellow Xsara VTR and VTS owners who know of any clubs or anything in south east England? Seems to be a few Saxo clubs going but didn't fancy tagging along with them!!!

Hey there
I've just joined the Citroen VTR crew - my mates all have Saxos.
Anyway, I got my pride and joy - a 1999 T-reg Xsara Coupe VTR 1.8 16v in Helios Yellow metallic So far mods include: - Lexus-style rear lights - Meshed front grille and airdam - Momo F1 leather/chrome gearknob and Momo black leather gaitor - Pioneer DEH-6400R OEL CD/Tuner and JBL GTO components all round, JBL subs - red Samco hosing - Green cotton induction kit - 16x7" AZ Brio 5-spoke dark chrome alloys on 195/45R16 Falken ZE Next plans: suspension lowered, boot install, plus much more Would like to hear from other Xsara owners!! Cheers, Rich |

RichVTR16v ,
Do you know how to lower the rear end. I know that the rear suspension can be lowered without any mod. By the way, do you know where to find a service manual for this car? Thanks a lot |

Suspension
Hey Mmasse.
Xsaras, like many French cars, have torsion bar rear suspension which is not easy to adjust. It can be done by yourself, but it is very tricky as the bar is under tension and you have to turn the bar so many notches and make sure it's the same both sides. It's much better left to a garage, which is what I am doing. The front suspension is easy enough as it's MacPherson struts. You can lower the rear without changing the dampers (gas struts) and just using lowering springs at the front - it's much cheaper than a full suspension kit and my friend has done this to his Saxo VTS and it rides and handles fine and much better than at standard height lol You can get Haynes manuals from Halfords which are always very good to work from. Hi Rich,
I too have a xsara 1.8 vtr, just a couple of questions for you: Where did you get the Lexus lights and how much were they? I've put JBL GTO's 6 1/2 and 51/4 in mine but I want to wire an amp into the boot but can't find a grommet in the bulkhead to go through, how did you do yours? Thanks Jamie |
