well my preludes been broken down for 2 weeks now and i still cant figure out whats causing it to stall after 10min of driving. i posted on honda-tech.com about it an got a little help, but didnt fix it. i've already put in a new alternator and battery. i checked out the knock sensor and its perfectly fine. i'm considering buying a 240sx nearby, and i cant decide whether i should keep trying to fix the lude or drop 1800 on that 240. its in good condition and has 120k miles on it. maybe sell the prelude as is or fix it, then buy the 240. i dont hav the money to take it to a shop. what do you guys think?

how long would a 240 with 120k miles last me?

i know i'd get biased opinions so i posted in both forums.

it depends on what ur lookin for....I own a Honda and a 240....i love em both....but i bought the 240 only to swap the motor out for a Rb25det....and i kept my Integra GSR to just drive around in winter and shit....it basically depends on what u want to do with the 240....do u just need somethign to drive? And i had the same problem ur lude is havin with my old integra...it would run for like 10-15 min...then just die...i figured out that the fuel pump was takin a shit....it would just stop workin when it got a little hot....so i replaced that and it was fine...but it took me forever to figure that out...

i would love to hav a 240, i've always liked them a lot. i really need sometihng to drive, the day i got a job, the lude starting screwing up. so i've had to get rides from everyone to and from work. if i replace the fuel pump, you think that'd fix it? i really miss driving. i'd probaly sell the prelude anyway, i need a change. i've been driving it since before i even had my learners.

Idk...id tryin inspectin ur fuel pump for any damage...maybe a wire is loose....that could be too....but yeah...240's are fuckin awesome....are u lookin at swapin the motor out?? And i know what u mean bout gettin rides...ive been without a car twice...for 1 month periods....its sucks...so i know how u feel...but make sure the 240 is in good condtion before u buy it...how much are they sellin it for???

when i get enough money for the swap, yeah. they're selling the 240 for 1800$. she lives 2 miles from my house so i'm gonna go over an test drive it sometime next week. if it isnt in that good condition, i'm gonna look at another 20 miles away for 1900$.

What yr 240 is it?? and what swap are u lookin at doing?? Let me know how it the the fuel pump is on the lude.....if u see somethign wrong with it...or maybe the wires are loose....thats ur best bet

well every 240 at my house has over 170,000 miles. Yea they have the normal wear and tear like any old car. It should run you good for a while. But dont expect little stuff not to go wrong. like fuel injectors getting clogged and other minor stuff like that. But as far as not blowing up, it definantly shouldnt if its taken care of.

I think a 240sx that has good synthetic oil(Mobil 1, ect)/good oil filter(purolator/mobil 1/K&N) should last for a long ass time. 300k+

U still have teh KA in ur car right?? how many miles u at? I dumped my KA out at 120k and its still in my garage and i was thinkin bout building up a strong ass KA-T...do u think its worth it if i have 120k on the motor?

i had a friend and his dad, his dads a certified mechanic and my friend might as well be too, they came over an looked my car over. the engines fucked is all i could understand. they're both vietnamese and hard to understand. so.. i've settled on a 95 240 for 3850$. 145k miles and gonna swap it for a sr20 or rb25 in the next few months.

just warning u now...the rb swap will run u about 6-7k if u can get alot of deals....mine cost 6k, and me and my friend droped it in.....ur lookin at 3k for the engine...and about another 3k for parts....

holy crap... i wont hav that much until like march... i work at jiffy lube an only get 6$/hour. time to find a new job. what about an sr20 swap? how much does that usually cost?

u can prolly get a sr20 swap for like 4000k inlcuding the install if u cant do it urself....im not even goin to get into what motor u should go for....its ultimately ur decision, so dont ask me "what should i do SR/RB" I am partial to the RB since i have it in my car...but lots of ppl love the SR and yet some still love the KA-T...they can all be very powerful....just depends on what ur lookin for out of a swap....

and i know how u fell...im a cashier at Sentry foods.....i make 6.50 an hour...lol
