manual tranny questions
Hello, I am in the market for a new car right now and was thinking of getting a manual tranny. This would be my first manual car. I just have one question about about how many times a year do you have to change the clutch? I really dont know a lot about car. My friend says for me not get get one because i would have to change it every few months. I just wanted to check if this was true or not. If it is true about how much would it cost for me to change it? And how hard is it to change?

If you have to change a clutch every few months, something is seriously wrong. All the cars I've owned, the clutches have lasted from 5-7 years or about 50,000-70,000 miles. These were American cars, so perhaps a Japanese clutch would last longer.

Definetly not true. All of my carss are manual except one and I have only changed the clutch in two of them. And they both have around 150,000 miles on them.

I've never had to swap out a clutch on any car (the Spyder was a choice, not a nesessity) and a few of them are over a 100K. The accord is a auto, but the others are all manuals.

Does your friend actually drive stick, have an iq over 50, or tend to lie often? |
