it was a normal hot fl day sitting in drive through i noticed a very strong electrical burning smell and neither fan was on even with ac running and temp way above norm it cooled off after very short time driving and when home i discovered both fuses blown i replaced and seems ok for now but i cant figure why both fuses would blow together or at all for that matter the truck has just under 55000 miles and has always worked fine

Re: 05 silv both fan fuses blown

ohm tested wiring between fuse block and fans checked out ok fans run fine when connected to bat+ individually vehicle has never been wrecked as i have owned it since new everything i can think to check is working normal i just think blowing 2 40 amp maxi fuses at same time along with the smell is odd and i cant figure it out i have also pulled the wires out of the wrap and inspected visually with no signs of damage to wires or connectors

I would inspect under the fuse box...

disconnect connectors for damage/corrosion
