Re: Porsche 997 GT3r 2012/2013 1/24

thanks a LOT guys. Always happy u appreciate my stuff.

I wanted to take a pic of her older sister, waiting to be finished on my stash .it is always better leave all the paint and colors rest for weeks before call it finished. 917 lh is always a dream car, even more the parts from Paul fisher art.

Progress update.
I didnt expect the clear parts from fujimi to be SO thight to the body. it could be the layers of paint&gloss&decals but was a little nightmare to place theme in position. As for the real thing here glasses are really on the level of metals, so is a very important step.

I add the little electronics those cars have in the front lights.

then another point that is ALWAYS a problem on this kind of models, and so important at the end. the wheel bolts.
Unfortunately nearly all the nice wheels i collect during the years have an ugly central bolt. Race cars of today have special ones holed with a little crane section probably done to fit exactly the mechanic pistols during pit stops.

the only ones really welldone I-ve found around are coming from tamiya merceses sls, so i want to do some metal copies of theme to be used to fix all the racing wheels i have around.

and they are under professional casting in Tuscany right now, so will wait some days before I can use theme.
Too important part this one anyway.

Yup, tolerances are important! I always leave a bit of slack in these cases. Especially if you use 2K clear, it does not shrink!
Looks great!

yes really Alex,
I was not expecting this. Fujimi worked really thight in such part and this experience will help me in the other cars I plan to build (haribo and manthey yellow green). It seems a deadly passage for the already thin A pillar near windshield. It doest help they made all the clear part in an unique piece too.

This one I am mounting now was the master of all my little serie, so some parts are different from the resin bodies. Probably use theme wil be easier cause during this build I ve seen how delicate can still be parts done in epoxy milliput , very easy to crack.

Its all experience ..I like this porsche so much really...

Re: Porsche 997 GT3r 2012/2013 1/24

I have here one spare resin body of my car. It was a slightly damaged one I fixed, so I use for fitting test on my model. Nice to see the fitting of original fujimi parts is nearly perfect, as per rear lights. Mounting pins are the same

then time to fix the specific fron grilles. I used Mg model plus pe net and a strip from evergreen for the border.

and wheel test fitting with correct bbs wheel. done by me

Re: Porsche 997 GT3r 2012/2013 1/24

a little update on this nearly finished car.

I finally made the center bolts for racing cars. Both 3d printed and casted from tamiya amg gt3. I like theme a lot and finally can fix a lot of problematic wheels around..

and in position
