Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
ok, despite all my other work in progress, I decided to start also this one. one more..one less...u know..
The rally purist probably already got the car, however a little explanation is due to the little monster that me (and some guys, friends of friends..) are going to make in our preferred scale. The ECV (means experimental composite vehicle) was the never born final, deadly, evolution of the mighty Lancia delta s4. As everybody know the B groups were cancelled, but lancia already develope this car with terrific numbers: some overall... 1800cc , turbo, 930 kilos and...600 hp. Group S the story of this incredible car here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lancia_ECV even if wikipedia only shows the ecv1 (that I am currently also building in the conventional - read old school- way), still similar to the original s4 car , the ecv2 was much smaller, with all the chassis done completely in carbon fiber monocoque. Like in formula 1 cars.yes. the car is this little ugly italian fellow: My idea is to build this car, curbside, starting from a 3d printed body in 1/24 scale, and probably cast it in resin.

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
and here is what I got.
it is 3d printed, but dont ask me where and how cause I am not the technician moulding it. Checking my documentation it looks also pretty accurate , but there are all the curved parts to smooth cause they still look like very very small lines typical of this kind of mouldings..think you understand what I mean.

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
from my previous buildings of my tk for the delta s4 (done in 2007 and now gone since long time..) I saved wheels and part of the decals, printed on my a4 sheet for s4 liveries

And as well I'll be interested in a resin kit. Great completion for a Lancia collection.

However it needs a fine sanding all over the body to keep it to our modelling standard cause too many little lines are visible looking the body for real. It is anyway absolutely welldone and also size and dimensions look really accurate. after the main sanding (done right now) the body looks this way.. finally sanded.. as said target will be provide a basic curbside model, complete with PE parts and decals in a very limited run production.

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
thansk to all guys. Is not my usual cup of tea, but is a little monster too many love and dream about down here. Is quite tricky find datas and precise measures, but think we can do it anyway.
I am having some issues trying to define the size of those specific rims (were done in carbon fiber too... O_o ) cause I dunno if they were 16 or 17s. they will be useful also for ECV1

Re: Lancia (Delta S4) ECV2 Group S 1/24 scale 3D
here again with this little ugly monster.
Made some fitting test with ken rally s4 original wheels. the size should be the same as for ecv1 and 2, so I made some test fitting. Despite is a 3d printed body surely some adjustment may occurr, I use to study careful the pics, but in this specific car is all a little bit foggy, probably cause never become a real racer. being my target a curbside model (and still thinking some subjects as this one are wonderful in the pure curbside version, to appreciate lines and to allow skilled modellers to make a full open-whatever model) I focused the setup as one of the most important part. Ken made an excellent work on his wheels , as typical from this incredibly great skilled japanese modeller He provided me also a full set of the air vents on the rims, cause the ecv2 mostly featured those wheels in the "real" pictures... despite in promo pics of course they used the ECV1 full carbon wheels.. btw my mate in this project plan to make also those wheels in 3d printing. This for me is a great news cause I plan to make also my ecv1 car, and on her wheels were really a problem, cause they showed ONLY full carbon ones...
