Ford Escort MK II RAC Rally 1977

[Quijote]

Ford’s famous rally car, the Escort MK II, was first produced in 1/24 scale by Esci late 70ties / early 80ties and then reiissued serveral times by Ertl, Revell and Italaeri. Always the same car, the same kit, with different liveries.

My car shown here ist he Escort driven in 1977 RAC Rally by Waaldegard / Thorszelius, the winner team. It was created from the old Esci Kit with decals by Ertl, PE parts by Fred Muerau and many selfmade parts, especially in the engine compartment.

Since I spent a lot of time improving the engine and the engine bay I left the bonnet open to show all those details. And because I wanted to show the car in its „natural environment“, a diiorama was best – Waaldegard’s Escort at service stop.
