help 81 desil timing

just bought 81 desil rabbit with fuel leal on back of pump fixed it but had to remove pump to do so along with timing belt. got it running but was verry noisy and no power and now it wont turn over any ideas? thank you.

If the timing belt was off by a few notches, you may have screwed up the valves. Did you register the cam shaft, injection pump, and top dead center of transmision when installing the timing belt? If not, it's probably screwed.
