REPSOL Honda NSR500 '99

Tamiya kit with Shunko decals and Top Studio detail parts. Hope you'll like it!

And last, a special shot with my previous built 98' Doohan's bike!

Thank you!!

Absolutely stunning, just like your previous '98 bike. When I saw your model of the '98 bike I was impressed enough to get the kit myself. I feel I may be on the lookout for this '99 bike to build as well now..!!
Got to ask as I always like to know. Did you paint all the main colours including the orange areas..??

Thank you!! It's my pleasure to give some inspiration to you!
Yes, all the main colors are painted! for better results I think it's the best way to do the job.
Copy or scan the original decal sheet is a good way to make masking templates!

Thanks Lu, for your reply. I appreciate it. I think the paint and masking work you did is superb..!! Painting all the colours really makes the model perfect in my opinion, so much better than decals alone. I hope I can achieve a good result too. I might try the'99 bike first, I'm thinking it may be the easier of the two.

Absolutely gorgeous Lu -

By far the best 99' Honda NSR500 on the forum.

Please do a WIP (work in progress) on future GP and MotoGP bikes Lu
There is a lot we can learn from your excellent skills.

Wow! Thats an epic looking build Lu!

I have a question about the red coloured tubing going from the instrument panel to the gas tank, where did you find that tube in that colour? The only way I have been able to recreate that colour for tubing is to use clear red mixed with sepia.

the pipe is originally clear, I just paint it with a thin layer of clear red to make it pinky.

thanks.
