I'm going to assume you mean in some of the shots of both cars together.
To be honest, i'm not 100% sure. The only thing I can think it could be is that 288GTO has the kit plastic clear part in which is quite thick. The 308 has all glass made from very thin acetate from some pckaging I had laying around.

In my humble opinion, the Ferrari 288 GTO is the most beautiful Ferrari ever built, ever.

What a shame this Italeri/Revell kit has all the 4 wheels of the same size and poorly reproduced. Moreover, the chrome plated parts are way too thick and toy-like. Tamiya kits are another planet in comparison.

By the way, the shiny paint finish and the cable work in the engine bay of this plastic model are absolutely gorgeous. Did you use automotive urethane paint? The thin black line running from the front to the back of the car was reproduced with paint or black adhesive tape? On my Italeri model I used airbrushed semigloss black paint, but the result is not as good as yours, indeed. This model is so perfect that the only two defects that I could point out are the front bumper lights lacking the orange section and the rear outer lights lacking the white spot of the reverse lights.

Have been away for a while and am only just catching up with what's been happening on AF and in the modelling world.

Paint is Tamiya TS-08 straight out of the can over Tamiya Surface primers.
The paint itself is gloss so no clear is required, which is also more correct for the paint used during the period the car was in production anyway.

The black line is actually black decal.
I have a big sheet that I cut into strips for this sort of thing.

As for the lights, the centre section of the rear lights are actually transparent. It's just it isn't very visible because the thickness of the plastic makes the whole thing look orange.
The ones on the front, I have no excuse; I'll have to fix that....
