Advice on cutting a wind screen
Hi
I'm about to build the Spiderman M1 2004 and the Renaissance instructions tell me to cut the top of the wind screen off. I've never done this and was looking for some advice on how to go about it. Top picture on this page shows how the screen has to be cut. http://www.renaissance-models.com/Mo...ri_estoril.htm Any help is appreciated. Best regards Joel

Either that or scriber, just put masking tape 1mm of the line (in to the cut area) and carefuly make first few passes and then little by little make deaper line, in the end carefully sand because when sanding glass may get small cracks all over. I wouldn't use dremel allthou it looks obvious just because of those cracks that can occure,

Re: Advice on cutting a wind screen
Can you describe that process a bit more gulfclk? Do I mask at the "line"? And then sand until I reach the masking tape or what?

Doing it this way (all by hand) gives you the safety and avoids to scratch the shield or even damage it as you still have the manual feeling. |
