Porsche gt1 evo 1998
Just searching around,
does anybody ever produce a kit (or also a die cast model) in 1/24 scale of the 1998 Porsche gt1 evo? I mean this car.

Yes, two kits where released in the past. One from ScaleProductions and one from Modeler's. Very hard to find, all online shops (or all I know off) are sold out and ebay never seem to have one. I got lucky afters years of searching to find one (well a kind fellow forummember sold his 2nd kit to me I am Roger still VERY THANKFULL!!!

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998
Are these ones good kits? I've never seen it, just asked before start with a scratchbuild model. If it exist...prefer wait and search around (and as u said it will be a LONG searching).
Strange no others produce this wonderful porsche.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998
They are both nice kits. The Modelers kit was mastered by Hiro. The Scale Productions is a copy of the Modelers with small changes. The Modelers kits body was cast in resin and metal with some photoetch. The decals were also printed in Japan on the Modelers kit.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998
It's on my pile of things to build before I die. I can take some pics of the Scale Productions version I have if you would like a little later in the week. The only complaint I have with it is some of the corners are a little too rounded off. It's a nice looking kit though. I had always wished Tamiya had come out with one to go with their really nice 1996 version.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998
BTW, the Scaleproduction kit was a little bit later copied from Blackbox
The Scaleproduction kit had no metals parts for the rear to be puttied on, but it came with a totally new rear, turned parts, ...

Worth it?... Not sure, I got the panoz copy from ebay last year and must say it needs quite a lot of more work plus scratchbuilding parts to complete it into a nice model. No PE is a big bummer too! Mine had quite a lot of resin airbubles inwards and outwards (especially in the intakes etc.) It's the only alternative at the moment if they have them back in stock, but I would wait for an ebay listing.. |
