Tamiya Flat Base
I recently bought a jar of Tamiya Flat Base. Has anyone ever used this product? If so, how does it need to be applied. Can I put it over a glossy painted item, and it will dry with a flat look, or does it have to be mixed before applying?

Re: Tamiya Flat Base
It has to be mixed with a regular color, you can't apply it on its own.
Flat base is a paint additive you can use to make a regular Tamiya gloss color into a satin or flat color depending on how much flat base you add to the color. |

Re: Tamiya Flat Base
As Ray said it has to be mixed with another colour. If you want a clear flat topcoat all you need to do is mix some with the apropriate Tamiya gloss clear. Make sure you only add small amounts and test otherwise you coould add too much and end up with a messy slurry.

Be careful. If you mix in too much it will actually start to turn white.
