I don't know where this article comes from but certainly the A2 is NOT the first alluminum commercial car. It's not even the first alluminum Audi! The A8 was first. But the first EVER commercial car was the Honda NSX back in 1990.

The Audi A8. Launched in July 1994. It was the worlds first aluminium-bodied production car with a revolutionary light but strong construction. There arent many around on the used market.

Honda introduced the world’s first aluminum monocoque chassis. It was constructed by extruded rails, stamped floorpan and casted subframes spot welded together, then covered with aluminum skins. The whole structure weighed just 200 kg, helping the NSX to achieve a low kerb weight at 1350 kg.

I think Honda is the best for those who want to save petrol. These days the cost for petrol in my country is getting higher and higher
