sh*t, that's one of the best models made back in the muscle car days. I saw some concept drawings of what a possible new camaro would look like if it is made that is, and it featured the looks of this model. that's really nice, you don't see too many of those ones anymore. Are those slicks on the rear wheels?

No, those are some Micky Thompson street tires. It has tread, but the picture is a little fuzzy because I had to make the file small enough to upload to this site. I used to have the same size tires on the front, but it was too hard to park (no power steering). So I went to smaller tires in front.

I was commuting to college and could not afford two cars (only working part time). The Camaro only got 8 MPG, it had a bored out 350 LT1 with an 850 Holley carb. I also started skiing and I could not put chains on it.

8 miles a gallon! Damn, v12's get better gas mileage, but that car was made before the whole emissions restrictions came into play

The '02 Camaro SS had the 350 HP Corvette LSI - 5.7L pushrod, 16 valve V8.

The new '03 Mustang Cobra has a 390 HP - 4.6L DOHC, 32 valve V8 - which is being force fed by a SUPERCHARGER!!! (helo, we're actually changing atmosphere's here).

Come on now, the Cobra runs a mid 12 ET on its supercharger, and the LS1 SS ran anywhere from mid 13's to high 12's on planet earth - normally aspirated!

You strap a blower on the LS1 and force feed it half the PSI the Cobra's 32 valver is getting and I bet it would still edge out the Cobra on the strip.

The cobra is the better deal. It looks better and runs the quarter mile in half a second faster. The cobra only costs $2000 dollars more than the camaro. This isn't the best comparison between the camaro and the mustang. The closest comparison would have to be the MACH1 versus the Z28.

exactly, and for anyone sayin its 4.6L vs 5.7L, the lightning engine is a 5.4L blown and it still isnt over the 400hp mark

Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races

GMs F car engines have always had decent HP but the torque is usually through the roof.
