sub polarity question
I have a 12 alpine type r in a ported box. Today I flipped it over, meaning the cone is facing the inside of the box and the basket is outside the box (because I tought it looked cool). Well the bass hits alot lower like that. My question is, Would my problem be fixed if I connect it backwards too?....or would that just burn the crap out of my stuff?

Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota. Cardomain |

Re: sub polarity question
ported boxes are more sensitive to volume, and inverting the sub increases the volume a little (as stated above). The phase means nothing as far as volume goes, especially if you only have one sub. Sometimes it actually sounds better, blends better with the midbass or midrange when the sub is connected backwards.
