2000 and Up 3100 LIM Gasket Procedure
Here is a helpful link one of our members posted concerning performing a lower intake manifold gasket replacement on the GM 60 degree engines. This is applicable to both the 3100 VIN "J" and 3400 VIN "E". 2000 and up Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3100 have the VIN "J". Note: This specific procedure is not applicable to the 3100 VIN "M" found in 1999 and under Grand Prix although there are similarities.

Re: 2000 and Up 3100 LIM Gasket Procedure
It seem pretty straightforward; my only concern or challenge is the revised torque pattern and torque values for LIM bolts. Do I need a special tool to that will allow me to tighten the bolts at a specified torque? Have you done a LIM gasket procedure before Bob or Tim? Please check out the picture I posted previous to determine that leaking orange residue...thanks a lot fellas for the info.

Re: 2000 and Up 3100 LIM Gasket Procedure
I have done a bunch of 3100/3400 LIM gaskets, a few 3800's, and a couple 5.7's on GM vehicles. You will definatly want to go with the fel-pro aluminum framed gaskets, make sure you get new bolts (fel-pro also carries these), and a 3/8 torque wrench is a must.
