hood hinge adjustments
Does anyone out there know a step by step system for adjusting hood hinges? I put a new cowl hood on my 64 Nova and the rear of my hood is too high (3/4" or so) and I've adjusted it 20 times with no improvement. HELP!

Re: hood hinge adjustments
Have you tried adding shims on the piece between the hood and windshield? If you don't have shims, you can use washers under the piece itself. There should also be alittle bitof play up & down on the hinges themselves. Loosen the 4 boltes for the hinges (2 on each side and let the hinges drop down. Between these two things, you should be able to get it to sit properly. Good luck

Re: hood hinge adjustments
common problem, "made in china". Its all crap. I'm re-drilling new holes in mine. Mine sits up an inch in rear.

Re: hood hinge adjustments
The way i do it is tighten the the hood bolts all most all the way,.. and then shut the hood easy (trying not to scratch anything) then adjust the hood to where it needs to be (trying not to scratch or bend anything) then pop the hood and tighten the bolts up the rest of the way,..
when i put the hood on my suburban it set up about 3/4 on an inch in the back,.. i had to do this a few times to get it just right,.. |
