Lacrosse 3.6 oil level

I have a 2007 Lacrosse CXS with the 3.6 engine. Owners manual says the oil capacity is 5.5 qts with filter. When I change oil and put in 5.5 qts it still reads 1/2 qt low on the dip stick. Has anyone else noticed this. I am not worried about it because at change time it is still at the same level. I am just wondering if I have the wrong dip stick.

Re: Lacrosse 3.6 oil level

Make sure you checked the oil level while the car was on a level surface, best to check 1/2 hour or more after car has been sitting on level surface for most accurate reading. Unless you have a leak, and a fairly quick one, the car should not be 1/2 qt low immediatly after oil change.
