Car related question: Recommendations on used car dealers & auto mechanics

Hi,
We just moved from San Francisco to Irving and need to purchase a vehicle for our family. We're looking at Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot, and Honda CR-V. Looking to buy 2005-07 year models.

1. Any recommendations on good used car dealers within the DFW area ? For no BS customer service, I don't mind driving about 30-40 miles.

2. Do any of these dealers
a. allow you to take the car to a mechanic to have it checked ?
b. provide extended warranty

3. Any recommendations on dependable car mechanics in and around the Irving and nearby areas ?
thanks in advance!

ALL used car dealer should let you bring to a mechanic.
Call them to ask before moving. Tell them: if you don't let me, I don't buy.
All 06-07 certified dealer provides extended warranty.
I don't think you need more than 1 year warranty for a 06-07 Toyota.
My father bought a used 06 matrix 1.5 years ago, he just got to change the PCM (200$ repair covered) up to now.

There's not a lot to check in a 06-07 toyota. They don't need to check compression for example. Just gas filter, alternator, pulleys, tires, suspensions, steering... just simple things. Any mechanics can check it w/o damaging it. When you'll drive it, you'll feel if there's other anormality.

I advise you highlander as SUV.

A Windstar without having the check engine light is not a real Windstar.
