Re: 2005 Grand Am Vs Civic Si 2000

my bet would be on the grand am and a good driver like myself =)

even tho the 2000 Si would be quick, being smaller and lighter, but it doesnt have much torque, even with a CAI... so I pick grand am se/gt in the long run

I believe no_import2007,
if you would have read my PM that I sent you on 2-15-07,
that I dont want to see any more racing questions here in the Grand Am forums.

Thier is a place for these racer questions,
and this is getting moved there.

I had an 2002 Grand am Gt Stock and My girl had a 2000 Civic SI in the blue color stock.... I would have to say that the civic would probably take the grand am. The grand am would put up a fight but in the end wouldn't win. Unless the grand am is modified, the engine/computer tends to restrict high revs, and bogs down alot, plus it weighs more as well as factors like traction control and other features that will slow down the car on intial take off. The Civic, Loves the higher revs, the Vtec kicks in then the car does NOT bog down one bit, and is lighter then the grand am.

my though

Re: 2005 Grand Am Vs Civic Si 2000

We need a new forum called "Benchracing for Newbs". That way we won't have to see crap like this in the "STREET RACING STORIES" forum. In a thread like this you'll hear all kinds of stupid theories from morons who only know about one of the cars you ask about.

Just go out and fucking race. Then post the story about it.

Re: 2005 Grand Am Vs Civic Si 2000

bench racing is lame.....street racing is stupid.....keep it to the track and find out who's faster that way.

Civic Si's run ~15.4 or so in the 1/4 mile stock....idk about the Grand Am

you didnt mention the grandam gt or se. i think the si would take the se. but the gt would take the si easily they have like 175hp or so and are ony like 3000 lbs.

so it has an extra 15bhp (not whp....which doesn't mean much) and weighs about 400lbs more than the Civic....not to take into account gearing or anything. Furthermore, this is ridiculous...if you want to find out, then race them...bench racing is lame

this calculator is quite accurate.

ya i know its lame. but i was simply responding to the post. yea its 400 lbs heavier. but what about torque. the gt is rated 205 ft lbs and the si is 111 ft lbs...
