Thank you Skyline240. Finally someone who sees it my way. I really apreciate your posts. I might be interested in making a few deals with you on JDM parts.
Umm... guys I'm still looking for some sights with good prices on the RB engines. That Okinawaimportmotorsports.com was a good site, but I can't find anyway to order. So that presents a problem.
Lastly, Skyline240 and any others who can advise me, what did you do to fit the Rb in your engine bay. I'm hereing stuff about moving the firewall back (which I think is impossible but somebody told me to do that) and stuff about having to extend the front of the car to get everything to fit. Is that required or can I find my way around it? I know with a little bit of patience and so fiberglass work it wouldn't be a problem, but that's a real big hassel to go through.

Thank you

you got to call okinawa or send them an email

brian@okinawaimportmotorsports.com
jeff@okinawaimportmotorsports.com

all that other crap about extending the front of the car is bullshit you can do it if youre loaded but i wouldnt recomend that. as fir the firewall not really i never even touched that.

in order for me to tell you more tell me what model 240 you are getting s13 s14 s15? also what type of rb do you want to get rb20det rb25det rb26dett

I'm going for the S14 and as far as the motor I'm lookin at the RB25. I think it would be easier to go to a rear wheel drive and the horse power and performance are than much worse. Also the money I save on the engine can easily go towards putting the horse power above 300 maybe even the high 300's. What did you have to do to the cradle on your swap. Also thanks for the info on Okinawa. Are they reliable? Do they sell good parts and engines?

Thank you

sorry to burst ur bubble but u do not know what u r talking about. The us didnt make any 240's after '98. The Silvia S14 was the last style of 240sx. The Silvia S15 is newer than '98 so unless we include time travel........there is no Silvia S15 style 240sx ever made.

Guys I have to agree with Skykline240. He never said or implied that there was a S15 built and sold in th US. You people are being nit picky. Everyday I hear people refer to 240SX's as S13 and S14 and I even hear them sa S14.5. Everytime I hear these I know exactly what they are talking about. Just to let you know the S14.5 is a S14 silvia converted to a S15. Anyways I think most of y'all are just being dicks.

If you really are interested in puttin a RB motor in a 240, i would personally go with the rb25det out of a 93+ skyline gts. it puts out 250hp to the crank which is about 220 to the rear wheels and unlike many people say, it is not a very hard swap. there are many shops out there that can do it for about 7k. i am in the process of doin this swap myself and almost complete. just a little bit of wiring to do and it should be good. I fought that if u realy want to do a RB swap get the Mckinney motor mounts and driveshaft, they are a life saver because they move the motor an inch and an a half down and back. gives u better clearance, and also shifts the weight in the right direction so its not too heavy in the nose like everyone is concerned about. There really is no custom fabrication required if u get those mounts. Mckinney motor sports also has downpipes and wiring harness's that u would need for ur swap.

like i tell everyone on here...if your serious about an RB swap check on mckinneymotorsports...very reputable company specializing in RB swaps...they make custom mounts and brakets ect...sell the motors also. The reason most people buy or custom fab the engine cross member is becuase the RB25's do bolt up but they sit farther foward. The mckinney pieces sit father back on the firewall, thus giving you better weight distribution, ect ect...blah blah...and a properly done RB swap will cost around 10k...but do it how you want...you take short cuts and you know what your going to get...at least everyone else around here knows.
