How much cash will an autonomous car save you?

I was reading an article and want to know what fellow car enthusiasts think about the topic:

Here's the article.

Re: How much cash will an autonomous car save you?

IMHO, I can't imagine being a passenger in an autonomous vehicle, but it will be here soon. I hate being a passenger when anyone else is driving, especially my SO. The only saving grace I can think of is that you won't need to buy a vehicle. I'm thinking of starting a leasing company where you pay for a specific type of vehicle and then when you need one, you schedule it on your phone app and a car of the type you pay for will come autonomously and pick you up. I just don't know if the laws will require a licensed driver to be in the vehicle to take over in case the system has an issue.
