Convertible top
I have a car with convertible top.
The top was black but it became kind of gray. I want to repaint it And I'm wondering what kind of color or spray to use on it. Chrysler Sebring 2004 |

Re: Convertible top
You're probably better off leaving it alone. I've tried painting and dying convertible tops in the past and it just doesn't work well. The biggest problem is that almost all of them are made from synthetic fibers that don't absorb the paint/dye.
Besides that, the fabric of a top that's old enough to be faded has also probably been weakened by exposure to the sun and the elements (man-made, especially). So, it will very likely start to either tear or separate at the seams before too long. I'd save the money you were going to spend on paint/dye and put it toward the new top you'll eventually need.
