Tribal F1
I remember seeing a picture of a F1 painted in what appeared to be a "tribal" color scheme. I think it was for sale at one point.
Does anybody have this picture? |

More than likely you are referring to GTR #05R campaigned by BBA Competition and Jean-Luc Maury-Laribiére wearing it's Tuiles TBF livery.
More photos and info can be found here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t118125.html I don't believe this car has been offered for public sale though. >8^) ER |

Me personally i think that paint job is quite ugly. The paint job that i like that has alot of graphics is the one that is a dark gray (maybe) and it has hearts and stuff on it. I think that one is sweet. It on this site somewhere you can only see the back though. if anyone knows where that one is maybe you can post it.

Unfortunately, that's not the one.
Imagine something like this: http://www.anzwers.org/free/aviation...20B747-300.jpg ...but it had mostly pastel tones, and had lots of white in between the other colors. It would look like a "dirty white" from far away, but as you got close you'd notice the pastels mixed in. It's not an ordered pattern, it's an abstraction. EDIT: it's also a road car. The picture I remember seeing was taken indoors. |

The link he posted works if you Right-click, and Copy Shortcut - then paste what you copied into a new window.
amanichen - I have never seen a photo of an F1 like you are describing. I'd like to think that I never will, but there are some rather eccentric people out there who can afford to spend the kind of money it takes to purchase an F1, so nothing would surprise me. How confident are you that the photo you saw was really an F1, and where did you see it? jomo - You happen to like the same car wearing a different livery. GTR #05R had no less than four different liveries throughout it's racing career. The one you are referring to would be the Cesar/Yacco livery which it wore at the 1995 24Hrs of LeMans. The most detailed photos of that specific car appear here: http://www.allsportauto.com/english/...to&zl_idMD=613 You can find many others around the web though. >8^) ER |

anyway... I remember seeing the picture posted in a thread on a forum one time...not recently, about two months ago. The only two automotive forums i've ever read were this and supercars.net...so I might go dig around there. I scoured all the F1 posts here from as far in the past as I could (...took me 5 hours today...) for any references to the car. It was a picture of a road car, indoors, and had had the white with pastel paint scheme. The pastel colors were similar to candy hearts given on valentine's day, or colors traditionally associated with eggs and candy on the christian easter holiday. |

Re: Tribal F1
BMW art car?
I'm pretty sure this car was used as a promo, and hence temporarily painted like I described....if that's what you mean... |
