Just bought a Lanos - Have some questions!
I just bought a 1999 Lanos - 99,xxx miles. Here's what I know about the car...
* Timing belt went out around 97,xxx miles and valves were damaged. * Owner replaced belt and repaired the damage. * No other known problems. What are things I should look for or watch out for? Any suggested maintenance I should do? Thanks |

Keep up on all the maintenence and hope that no parts break in the future. Finding parts for these cars are not easy.
These are not really bad cars, but a common sensor to go out is the cam sensor on top of the engine. I replaced several of them, but parts took weeks to get.

What a coincidence, I just bough an '00 Lanos with it's timing belt broken at 97-K also. I wonder how many others had the belt break?

Timing belts on ALL cars will Timing belts are supposed to be replaced ever 60k miles. the 99 Lanos is the ONLY model year of the lanos to come with Daytime Running Lights.... Anyone know how to get those working in a '01? It has all the fuses needed. ammcf1 can you post a pic of the under-hood fuse box?
