anti-sway bar link

Had a knocking from under the front driver side, turns out there is a broken anti-sway bar link. One half of it is evidently missing. Trouble is, neither my mechanic nor myself can find one anywhere.
I'm wondering if:
a) a friend who is a good welder can simply rig something up to fill this role, or
b) the link from a Chevy Aveo (which is a Daewoo Kalos, which is a modified reincarnation of the Lanos, to my knowledge) would fit the bill? This I can find online.

Re: anti-sway bar link

I've kind of figured out what the issue is. For the Lanos, the "link" isn't one unit, but rather a number of individual pieces: nuts, spacers, a tube, etc. So I ordered them from the Daewoo site, we'll see what happens.
