HP diff. in NSX Models

When did NSX's begin to have 290 HP compared to the 270 HP of earlier models? Also what is usually recommended, engine wise, if the vhicle has over 90,000 miles?

Re: HP diff. in NSX Models

The NSX was available from 1990 to 1995 with a 5 speed manual transmission pushing 270 hp.

1996 a 6 speed manual was introduced along with a bump of displacement, from 3.0 to 3.2 liters. American Nsxs have 290 horsepower while Japanesse ones have 280 horsepower.

Fastest Nsx in stock form is the NSX- Type S Zero. Which goes 13.0 in the quarter mile, 12.8 has been achieved with that car.

Great Info thanks! I have been seeing some 1991 and 1992 NSX at fairly good prices. My only concern is if the car has over 90,000 miles on it what is usually recommended in terms of the engine? What should I replace, if anything?

Another question I have is what are the spec numbers on the 90-95 models (0-60, 1/4 mi, top speed)?

Re: HP diff. in NSX Models

You should get an overall inspection in the Honda/Acura dealer, see if all the services have been done.

Specs for the 90-95 models for the manual transmission are:

5.0-5.2 0-60 mph
13.6-13.8 1/4 mile
154 mph top speed
