If you could have ANY Mclaren F1...

Which would you take?

Few things:

  • Price is irrelevant, as you would NEVER be allowed to sell it!
  • Current or past colors/configurations only (Otherwise the chassis# becomes too irrelevant)
  • Briefly why that one (if you want to!)
For me, it would be 54GT, Black with 10% flake. I really would use it everyday, and an LM just seems too loud. Plus I prefer the looks of the GT's, and the Brunei one is my favorite color of the whole 3 GT's.

(PS I couldn't find another thread like this, if one exists please feel free to merge them Mods!)

56XPGT, with it's original rims. Best looking F1, period.
018, as it is now. LM without the noise etc.
The Tag Heuer F1 - love the decals. I think it might be 014 or 012 (?)

In that order.

Re: If you could have ANY Mclaren F1...

The TAG car is believed to be #012

For me, it would be hard to choose between #029, #01R ( ), 56XPGT as stated before, #040 [so I could see how the dynamics have changed, not that I have had a go in one to compare it to ], #13R, and I am getting to like #007 the more I see of it recently.

Mind you, knowing how good Mclaren Customer Care are, I could buy any F1 and get it how I want it back in Woking

Re: If you could have ANY Mclaren F1...

There really are too many that I'd really like to have. (these are assuming I've got the chassis numbers right but I'm non too sure)

For normal road cars:

#007 - Obviously it's been seen a lot recently, and it's taken it's recent public appearances for me to realise that F1's look absolutely amazing in black.

#008 - Cobalt Blue is a lovely colour, and from what little we've seen of the car it looks great on an F1

#014 & 060 - I like yellow on the F1, so it would require the first to be returned back to it's original look (I know it looks lovely as it is now, but I'd rather it was original) and is the latter the one in Japan that's never been driven and still in it's plastic wrapping?

#016 - is a very, very classy car in a unique colour.

#029 - I really, really like the colour combination. An unusual exterior with a classy interior.

#039 - I'd just really want to save this car from it's current predicament, and it's another unusual combination of colours that I'd definitely keep if they were originally that way.

#031 & 053 - F1's look fantastic in white, 'nuff said.

For GTR's

#01R - I defy anyone on this forum to say they wouldn't want this one

#07R - Returned to it's blue and silver Jacadi livery because it was one of my favourites

#013R & #014R - especially if I could have both as a pair because I adore the LARK livery and want to see them both together in full racing spec.

#016R - The FINA livery is perfect.

#027R - Hopefully it's new owner will reveal it soon with it back in it's Parabolica livery again, and when that happens, I might just go and steal it because it looks really good.

Re: If you could have ANY Mclaren F1...

Surprised no one has included #011 on their lists yet - it usually tops mine:

I shouldn't really have to explain the choice. It just looks stunning!

XP4 is another one that hasn't been mentioned which I'd really love to have - partly because of its history, but also because I think it looks fantastic.

#051 is another I desire along with #029, #040, #016, #018, #025, #014, XP5, LM2, 12R & 23R which are the others which I'd like to have in their present condition.

Truthfully I'd take any one of them so long as I could afford the expense associated with driving it.

As usual, you beat me to it ... #011 is my choice too.

For a GTR ... 07R in the Papaya/Silver colour scheme.

George Harrison's car - Dark Purple Pearl over black leather with black wheels. There aren't any great photos of it so I'll spare repeating the bad ones.

Re: If you could have ANY Mclaren F1...

This is very simple:

LM, An Orange LM. No mather which one of the six, but orange LM.

It just have something magical. It's not so much race than GTR and maybe that's why I would prefer that more than GTR version, to Finish pumby roads.
Even that I love GTR's; the LM is perfect. Out and inside.

Yes, I realize that. But that's cheating! However, of the GTR's I would agree with 01R

Yes, that was the other one I was tossing up with. A GT in that colour, or an LM would be magnificent

Oh, and we don't care about costs here.

Any road coverted 1995 or 1996 GTR ideally stil in its racing colours but that could always be rectified if it had lost them.

#069 for me, hdk, no hdk, it doesnt matter. The funny thing is that I'm not big fan of black-on-black cars, but with this one it was just love at first sight (shot).
As for a GTR (bar 01r), definately one of the GULF cars, or something less popular - 011r in the black-orange Franck Muller livery
