What year NSX to buy?

I am getting ready to make a purchase for a used NSX.

I plan to upgrade to the Comptech Supercharger plus other related items. Should I get a later year model 97-99 (for the 3.2 + 6-speed and other upgrades), or save the money and get a lower year model with low miles. (Assuming that the upgrades would replace improved parts in the later year models anyway).

If so, what year do you recommend. I previously owned a 1992 NSX and the only thing that was inconvenient was the lack of low speed powering steering. Is there anything that can be purchased to improve the powering steering on low miles?

Thanks to all

I have a 98, I would tell you to buy the 97+ because of the 6 speed gearbox and for the Targa roof (and the larger engine) The clutch was vastly inproved with a heavy single clutch plate vs the earier double version. The parts for the older version are more expensive and harder to install, Good luck with your new toy.

Re: What year NSX to buy?

Congrats on the NSX!! The newer models do have a little more crisp throttle response and the 6-speed is great to shift. The only thing to keep in mind is that the early NSX's ('91-'94) were the lightest weight, hence they would be slightly more agile. Now, if you can find one of the ultra-rare '97-'99 NSX COUPES (non-targa), you would be ahead of the game. But there are not many out there.
