First Post and a question about decals
Hi All,
I have been a long time stalker of the site (that sounds real bad, but its true..) and I have been amazed by some of the builds I have followed through on here. Its finally kicked me into starting to build some of my models I have accumulated for some years now. I do however need some advice... I am in the middle of finishing my 2001 Impreza wrc model, and I am about to tackle the decals (for the first time using micros sol and set also). Now with regards to the body, I have sprayed it mica blue as per the instructions with ts-25 paint. But now I am a little confused and needing help. Do I go ahead and clear coat before applying decals? or do I apply decals then clear-coat? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks for the help, and hopefully I will be able to post my build up soon Alex |

Re: First Post and a question about decals
You will find that decals will adhere much better to a gloss surface. The Mica Blue is already gloss so no need to apply any clear before you place the decals, they will stick just fine. Once they are on and thoroughly dry then you can clean the model surface to remove any residual decal adhesive before the final clear coat over the decals...
