Hey Caleb56, thanks for visiting AA and replying.
I assume you're talking about the homepage www.automotivearticles.com, correct? The articles that show up on the front page are sorted based on chronological order and the three latest news stories (posted by myself) that have come online are related to Asian carmakers (Hyundai is Korean, not Japanese) because they made the news. Last week we had the S-10 Car of the Week and, personally, I'm working on features on the Chrysler 300, Ford 500, and Chevy Cobalt. We also had a story a few days ago on the latest profit reports from GM and Ford.

If there are any specific stories you'd like to see us cover, please let us know in the "What do you want to know?" section of the AA forums, we always invite new ideas. I generally tend to cover the Auto Industry News side of things, but I'm sure our writers in the tech section and elsewhere would be glad to take your suggestions as well.

It's a beautiful car with an extensive modification list. Lots of time and money was put into this car. Definately worthy of being called the "Car of the Week."

Don't get me wrong - I love the Skyline - I think it will be here soon, although probably badged as an Infiniti... an expensive one.

Hell, I used to drive a 350Z, and now I drive an Evo 8 - but if you're going to keep it stock, when the skyline DOES get here - I think you could spend a little more and drive a Viper or a 911. Or spend a little less on a Z06.

Or spend a LOT less and drive an evo or a subi STI - both of which spank just about anything Porshe makes - on the track.

you calling a GT-R a POS and this is coming from a driver of a EVO 8. yes i know a EVO 8 will outperform a dated R32 GT-R. but Nick Wong bought the car back in Hong Kong and imported the car here himself. the only reason why the engine blew was becuase of oil starvation during high cornering loads at the road race portion of the ultimate street car challenge. the engine blew 700 ft before the finish line and it still finished in 7th place for the time attack. the skyline had a 100 pt lead overall compared to the rest of the field.

this is a amazing machine. it just happen to be back luck that struck this car. plus a GT-R will make waaay more power then your little 4G63 can ever dream off when you compare bolt vs bolt on power. and it will walk your EVO 8 like a dog on the highway.

don't get me wrong, i love the EVO 8. i know 3 friends who owns them. and one of them is my best friend. but even my friend with the EVO would give up his EVO for a GT-R anyday. even if its a older R32. and don't you think its not fair to compare a 2003 car to a car that came out in 89? if you compare the EVO 1 to the R32 GT-R back in 92. the EVO got murdered by over 2 seconds at tsukuba circuit. even if you compare it now. the R34 GT-R v-spec II down right beats the EVO 8 GSR. and thats not even the top of the line GT-R which is the R34 GT-R Nur Spec which has 400hp. even though its proven that the R34 is proven to put down 350whp bone stock.

so i just think calling a GT-R a POS is just not right esp if you drive a EVO. you calling a GT-R a POS is like calling your car a POS also.

Some people... like the owner of this car... have an Italian car.... and maybe a few more things from other places..

When you push things hard.. they break. You can chose to cover up and hide them.... or share the infomation with people and hopefully learn from it.

Humm let me see. My 1992 R32 GTR cost me @ $13,500 USD. I put a $500USD aftermarket intercooler, $250USD to have the factory ecu remapped, came with exhaust and pods. Owes me just over $14k USD.

EVO 8's are how much ?!? $27-30K USD Even with exhaust, pods, and a powerFC the best time I've seen one do is umm lets see. 12.65! Ooooooo

12.01 @ 115mph full weight on my daily tyres. I'll out run on through the gears, top end all day long. I've beaten so many mitizishitzy's if i had a little sticker like a fighter pilot for each one, my car would be covered!

Correction

Actually, Turbotrix's Evo is running 9's. Not the mention there are numerous shops out there with Evo's running mid 11's on the stock turbo. In addition there are DSM's out there running 8's on the 4G63. So yes, while you will never find a dyno video of a single turbo 4G63 making 1200 horsepower, there is proof that it can still take cars just as fast as the RB.

And I heard the Turbotrix Evo popped too. Fast cars , when you are pushing them hard , have a tendency to do that.

Numerous shops with Evos running mid 11's with stock turbos ?

OK name them . Not claims - like Buschers claim... how about a real test in front of a number of people like the Evo Orgy - where the quickest stock turbo cars went low 12's.Not bad at all.

I really like the Evo... its a great fun car. Awesome they sell them in the US now. Its not a Skyline GT-R though.

DSM's running high 8's... sure... several of them. John Shepard went 8.9@161 this weekend out at Maple Grove. His car is no joke.

LOL, I am by no means calling down the thunder I would never claim that a $30,000 sports sedan is equilavent to a $60,00+ stuffed flagship sports car.

As far as Evo's running 11's on the stock turbo I know of Burschur off the top of my head. People are entitled to their own opinion and in the midwest, if you own a DSM, Dave and Tim are the guys to go to. So I trust what they say.

My only point in the previous post was that there are plenty of 4G63 powered cars putting down comparable numbers (ET's) to GT-R's.

As far as road circuits, I could be wrong but I think SCC just ran a feature story on the two fastest road course cars they had ever tested. One of them was a GT-R and the other was HKS's Evo.

But again, not to step on anyone's toes. They are both great machines. After all, you gotta stick up for the cars/engines that you own.
