replacing dash lights
06 Chevy, are the bulbs soldered or wedge type? Also how do the gauge needles remove without damage?

take the dash out and see what lamps you need. most have gone to radio shack to match up the exact lamp. I think these are all soldered in place. if so then you will be required to have this ability or the circuit boards will get messed up. gauges needles move...

Jcat I am a where the needles move, but need to know they come off. This must be done to take the plastic backing just to get to bulbs!

The needles should come off . this is required when the stepper motor needs replacing. the motor is what moves the needle. these motors were a GM defect in the 2003-4 models ... 2006 year should be the same ..
