Question 1994 Jag xj6 vdp Fuel pump? starting problems

I have a 94 xj6 and it seems to maybe have a fuel pump problem im not sure. once it runs it runs great, but to get it started I have to turn on the key let it sit for a few seconds and then do it again sometimes ill here the fuel pump sometimes not. after i hear it kick in it starts right up does this mean I need a new fuel pump? or are the connecters just coroded? or is it something else? ive called jaguar and they said it could be a relay? how do I test that and where is the in tank fuel pump on this car i took the trunk carpet out and could see the tank but no pump. anyone know where this is at? thanks!

Swap relays with another from your car. You might also have a bad check valve in the fuel system allowing drainback. How's the fuel filter?

George or anyone:
I too have a 1994 Jaguar XJ6 with a starting problem. There seems to be no ground to the starter relay. I can ground the starter relay and it'll start. There's about 6 wires coming out the relay. Did you ever fix your problem?

Have you tried if your spark plugs are okay? But take a closer attention on the relay. My Jaqguar once have problem in starting problems but This type on mine was a worn out spark plug, but the connectors arwe also checked by the dealer and I have also changed the jaguar struts cause i notice it was also affecting the fuel consumption. My car was not running smoothly back then.

the pump is under the car just infront of the drivers rear tire.give it a tap with a small hammer.and lsten to it to see if it changes tone.that year has a nasty habit of letting water in past the fill cap so do a fuel sample test.and ofcourse check the fuel filter.it is right buy the pump.just remove and blow through it.or replace.you choice.
