got some q's if any one wants to help a sistah out
i have a few problems... and i need help.
my car smokes wicked (dont know if its the rings or the head gasket, tried a can of restore and still smokes so assuming the later) and my weather stripping leaks where the window meets the roof, and the targa top leaks above my visors. are these common probs? is the weather stripping a dealer only part? and do there cars have the tendancy to smoke? its the 1.5 and it has a whopping 182k on it hows my new car treating me?!?! lmao |

Smoking at 182... not too surprising. Probably need to take it to a shop for a good ol' rebuild. Most likely the rings.
And yes, the seals leak ALL the time.. you can either put HondaBond (available at the dealership) on it, or you can replace them (also dealership). |

I think Emily's (94SolGrl) exact words to me when I told her my seals leaked at the window/roof meeting point was "Start keeping a towel in your car, welcome to owning a del Sol" If your car is smoking so bad, are you adding oil like every really damn often?

Depends on the year Del Sol you have. Honda redesigned the seals 1995+ so as long as they're not screwed up and you maintain them properly, they won't leak. Mine never leak. I just lube the seals with the lithium grease that Honda sells about once or twice a month. The Team Sol website has a how-to on what to do to take care of the weather seals and the part number of the grease you can order from Honda. Runs about $20.
If you have a '93-'94, you'll probably have to replace the weather seals since they're the older design that leaked.
