Quick Question
ok i just got this 12 type r with dvc 2ohms to replace my 2 15's. (needed the space) My amp that puts out 500rms at 4ohms and 900rms at 2ohms. Now should i wire it in series or parallal? B/c i dont want to blow this sub like i did my 15's (Bottomed out)
I have also a 200rms at 4ohm Rockford amp 200rms at 4 ohm MTX amp 400rms at 1 ohm Ma-Audio amp If i would just be better to use one of these. It Kind Offhard b/c i want to get the most power out of this sub but dont want to blow it!!!

Wire it in parallel to 2 ohms and set the gains using a digital multimeter to put out the RMS of the subs, if you need me to I"d be more than happy to post the link to a gain setting tutorial as well as give you the volts to set to. If you need the voltage please let me know what the RMS of the sub is and I'll figure it for you.

I thought you ment it was a 2 ohm final load D4, not a d2, sorry. I'd use the first amp you mentioned and run it wired in series for 4 ohms and 500 watts (I believe that's what you said it did). I don't know what those type R's will handel I know they're rated at 300-350, but I've heard they'll take more.
But anyway, wired in series to a 4 ohm load on the first amp for 500 or less watts is what I'd do. |

I tried all my amps and the kenwood was the best ran in parallel. Ran in series it sounds like crap and cant give the best power. I'm giving it the 900rms but barely have the gain up.
