15-passenger vans

About large 15-passenger vans made in USA, Ford and Dodge just extended the length of the body without extending the wheelbase. I think there were reports of these vans flipping over when fully loaded. Chevy/GMC extended both length of body and wheelbase. Ford and Dodge replaced USA-made vans with those made for Europe. These vans can be extra long with high roofs and I'm worried that they can flip over.

Re: 15-passenger vans

The extra length has hardly anything to do with propensity to flip over. CoG is above the beltline, the length doesn't change the CoG. And as far as that goes they have about as much propensity to flip as an every day SUV.

Re: 15-passenger vans

Didn't know about this (thanks to forum)! It would be a bad move for them if these vans would have a big tendency to flip just hoping they would test first i mean have a 10000 test before approving this kind of models. Maybe they see sleeker vans as more catching to the eyes. Plus they should be hiring a physics teacher now!
