Re: I NEED HELP QUICK (smog)

I am sue you can legally rectify this without having to ask someone to bend some rules for you

I am not sure if this is entirely accurate, but here goes.

Contact the manufacturer of the non-stock intake system. If the system was legal for use on-road in CA, it will have an exemption number assigned to it by CARB:
http://www.arb.ca.gov/homepage.htm

This number means the intake is just as legal as the stock system, so the car will pass emissions so long as everything is working properly.

If you cannot get the number, or if the system was sold for "off-highway use" only, then you may have to put the stock system back on. Hopefully you still have it. If not, you may have to source one through a wrecking yard, or buy another aftermarket system that IS legal. (Chances are this will be cheaper than the GM dealer's parts dept)

Here is some more info.
